Price increases put Memorial Day PS5 deals in jeopardy, but there's still a way to grab a console for less this weekend

The cheapest way to pick up a PS5 right now is to go via the refurbished route. Sony's PS Direct store has OG consoles (not the newer Slim models) with a disc drive for $399 at the moment. That's about as good as you'll find these days.

Sony is also selling its refurbished PS5 Slim consoles for $100 off the new $649 MSRP. This is pretty much back down to where we were before the price increases - but the value isn't on this model's side. You're adding a little extra storage, but the OG version above is infinitely better priced.

This wouldn't be my first pick, but if you're after a Digital Edition console this Memorial Day it's the cheapest way to get there. Sony's refurb stock is $100 off the new MSRP (back down to the original price) - just note you're locked into their digital game prices.

I've only ever seen Silent Hill 2 a couple of bucks cheaper in the past, and that $39.99 previous price is discounted in itself. If you're hunting down a budget-friendly horror that's worth far more than its current price tag this is a must-see.

Another additional discount on a PS5 collection staple. Alan Wake 2 is down to $29.99 in Amazon's Memorial Day PS5 deals, taking us to the store's lowest ever price. This is usually stuck at $40 when discounted (it launched at the full $69.99).

A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead is more gimmicky than other horrors, but it's earned its place in the streaming hall of fame. If you've been waiting to take the experience out for a spin yourself, today's smaller discount is softening the blow. I have seen this copy down to $10 in the past, but that was only for a very brief blip back in October. Other than that, this is about as good as it gets.

Dragon Quest VII Reimagined is back down to its lowest ever price in Amazon's Memorial Day PS5 deals. You're saving $10 on this remake and, while it's been at this position pretty solidly over the last couple of months, a great final rate.

Woot is undercutting the rest of the market for those keen to return to Bikini Bottom this Memorial Day. Titans of the Tide isn't exactly the blockbuster many will be aiming for this weekend, but it's still an excellent time.

Woot is the best place to buy Space Marine 2 this Memorial Day, with a $23 discount taking us to a new record-low price on the PS5 edition. Amazon is still a few bucks more expensive and some retailers are even at full price on this one.

We're back down to AC Shadows' lowest ever price at Best Buy this weekend, returning to a $34.99 position that other retailers can't quite match right now. The latest instalment has been jumping between this $35 rate and $55 for the last few months.

The official Chroma Indigo DualSense is $10 off at Best Buy. That's not too impressive if you take previous price increases into account, but if you're after a new gamepad it's still well worth checking out against the rest of the market.

This is the Encore Edition of the CRKD Gibson guitar controller, a must-see for any Fortnite Festival fans. It usually hovers at between $95 and $115, but Woot has it down to a brand new record-low price this Memorial Day. That's a full $20 cheaper than I normally see it day to day.

Woot has the best deal on the Razer BlackShark V3 Pro I've seen yet. You're saving 34% on this excellent ANC PS5 headset - $85 in cold, hard cash. I've only ever seen previous discounts dropping us to $209.99 on this one.

Ok, so the Razer Raiju V3 Pro has been cheaper in the past. Back in February I saw it dropo to $129.99, but only for a couple of days and it's been nowhere near that point since. Today's $169.99 sales price has been hanging around for a little while, but it's the cheapest I've seen in the last few months. This is one to watch over the next few days.

We're jumping up the price scale a little for this one, but if you're looking to completely upend your PS5 setup this Memorial Day the BenQ X3100i is a fantastic way to do so. This is my go-to gaming projector and it's just $10 off its lowest ever price here. Just note you're not getting 4K 120Hz gameplay - we're capped at 60Hz further up the resolution scale.
