Memorial Day gaming laptop deals are looking a little tougher to find this year, as supply chain issues keep a lot of the 2026 models out of reach and prices on last year's releases looking a little more stubborn than we'd like. That's not to say you can't find some offers that are genuinely worth taking - shopping around older releases, models that prioritize component value over fancy chassis features, and potentially making some sacrifices in your display can save you big bucks this Memorial Day and those are exactly the kind of smart moves I'm prioritizing this year.
I've been tracking discounts on the best gaming laptops for over six years now, and I go hands-on with the latest and greatest releases in between these major sales events. That means I know which specs to look for, in what models and where.
As is tradition, Best Buy is pulling out in front this year. While Lenovo, HP, and Dell would have previously been runner-ups in this race, all three brands are markedly more expensive right now. While Newegg works with a more limited supply of brands, Walmart is pretty plagued by a third party marketplace, and Amazon tends to throw out some bizarre rates, Best Buy is keeping its cool with a sturdy range of budget and premium machines and some solid discounts on them.
You'll find all my top Memorial Day gaming laptop deals just below.

Today's best Memorial Day gaming laptop deals
Specs: AMD Ryzen 5 7235HS | 16GB RAM | RTX 4050 | 512GB SSD | 144Hz FHD display
The Lenovo LOQ is a bargain-hunter's darling, especially if you're looking to play lighter games, scale your resolution down, and drop some graphical settings. These rigs use cheaper components to keep their prices in the realm of affordability while still backing it up with a solid build quality. This configuration takes us back to the RTX 4050, but for entry-level players it's still worth its $749.99 sale price.

Specs: Intel Core i7-13620H | 16GB RAM | RTX 5060 | 1TB SSD | 165Hz FHD display
This is the kind of gaming laptop deal I look out for during every sales event. The Acer Nitro V puts its component value first, and that means a lot in the current market. You're not getting the most exciting of processors or display here, and the chassis isn't going to blind fans of more luxurious models, but 16GB RAM and an RTX 5060 under $1,000 is gold dust right now.

Specs: AMD Ryzen 7 8745HX | 32GB RAM | RTX 5060 | 1TB SSD | 165Hz QHD+ OLED display
That OLED display has been working particularly hard for the mid-range Pro Legion since launch, and it's coming shipped with a generous 32GB RAM here. That's tough to find in lighter RTX 5060 builds these days, and a $350 discount is the cherry on top.

Specs: AMD Ryzen 9 270 | 32GB RAM | RTX 5070 | 1TB SSD | 165Hz FHD+ display
With $300 off the original price, Best Buy is looking particularly competitive with this Asus TUF A16 Memorial Day gaming laptop deal. That's because there's an RTX 5070 GPU and 32GB RAM tucked away under the hood here. You're picking up a cheaper chassis and less flashy display than the Lenovo above, but much more power under the hood.

Specs: Intel Core Ultra 7 255HX | 16GB RAM | RTX 5070 Ti | 512GB SSD | 144Hz FHD+ display
If you thought $1500 was good for an RTX 5070 config, how about spending $30 more on a Ti card? This MSI Vector comes packing a mid-range CPU (but still a particularly powerful brain) with that higher-range graphics card for $370 off its $1,899 MSRP at Newegg. Unfortunately, the 16GB RAM might be a little stretched if you're pushing that GPU to its limits though.

Specs: AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX | 16GB RAM | RTX 5070 Ti | 1TB SSD | 165Hz FHD+ display
Another RTX 5070 Ti / 16GB RAM configuration here, but one with a faster screen and more storage. The Asus ROG Strix G16 is down to $1,649.99 in Best Buy's Memorial Day gaming laptop deals. That's a little less memory than I'd like to see in this roster of components, but if you're just looking for a little extra horsepower it's worth investigating.

Specs: Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX | 32GB RAM | RTX 5080 | 1TB SSD | 240Hz QHD+ display
This is my current go-to gaming laptop, but the RTX 5080 version hasn't dropped to the kinds of sale prices I used to see in some time. Today's $350 saving still represents a solid deal and one of the best prices I've seen in 2026, though note you're not getting the OLED model here.

Specs: Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX | 32GB RAM | RTX 5080 | 1TB SSD | 240Hz QHD+ OLED display
For those who don't want to sacrifice on the display, the Lenovo Legion Pro 7 is pretty much doing it all this Memorial Day. Best Buy has this RTX 5080 configuration at a four-figure discount - and not a low one. For $2,599.99 you're getting a high-end OLED panel, that enthusiast GPU with 32GB RAM to support it, and Intel's previous generation top shelf processor.
