Film4 FrightFest 2015 announces opening and closing films

Film4 FrightFest 2015 has unveiled its opening and closing films, with the festival set to kick off with the European premiere of Cherry Tree before closing with the European premiere of anthology flick Tales Of Halloween.

Cherry Tree is the festival's first ever Irish curtain-raiser and tells the tale of a young girl who makes a terrible bargain with the head of a black magic coven in an attempt to save her father’s life. Needless to say, there is quite the price attached…

Tales Of Halloween is set in a quiet American suburb on the evening of the macabre holiday, and is comprised of a series of nightmarish stories directed by a host of the genre's most exciting names. Neil Marshall, Darren Lynn Bousman, Axelle Carolyn, Adam Gierasch are all among the auteurs involved in what promises to be a hair-raising finale to the festival.

The full lineup will be announced next Thursday, with this year’s event set to take place at the Vue Cinema, Leicester Square between 27 - 31 August. Tickets will go on sale on 4 July, and will be available at the official FrightFest website
