Warner planning Scooby-Doo reboot

Warner Bros. is planning to reboot one of its classic franchises, with news emerging online that Scooby-Doo is set to get another go-around at the cinema.

Deadline reports that Warner is set to dust off the classic Hanna-Barbera cartoon for a second crack at a big-screen adaptation, after the live-action version released back in 2002.

That film might have received a bit of a critical kicking, but still managed to bring in $275 million at the global box office, a sizeable enough return to guarantee a sequel was made two years later.

Details on the new film are extremely scarce, so we've no idea whether this one will be animated, live-action or a mixture of the two, although intuition would have us leaning towards the latter.

Randall Green is currently working on a script, with Charles Roven in place to produce. No director has been appointed as yet.
