Jack Black heads back to high school in new trailer for The D Train: watch now

The first trailer has appeared online for The D Train, an indie dramedy in which Jack Black plays a middle-aged family man desperately trying to recapture his youth by arranging a killer high-school reunion. His secret weapon? James Marsden…

Marsden’s character is another former pupil from the same high school, whose minor celebrity has Black convinced that he’s the key to a successful reunion. However, when the reluctant star eventually comes on board, Black isn’t quite so willing to surrender the limelight as he’d made out.

Take a look at the new trailer, below…

It might seem quite a slim premise, but Marsden looks enjoyably nonplussed throughout, while Black gets to throw out some pleasingly arch quips about the nature of celebrity. “If Dave Schwimmer comes, EVERYBODY comes…”

Directed by Andrew Mogel and Jarrad Paul and co-starring Jeffrey Tambor and Kathryn Hahn, The D Train will open in the US on 8 May 2015, with a UK date to be confirmed.
