The Ghostbusters strike a pose in first official photo

Earlier this year Paul Feig debuted a shot of the new Ghostbusters line-up via Twitter (check it out above), to combat the many unauthorised set photos hitting the web. That was months ago, and at long last, Sony has unveiled the first official snap of the spook hunters kitted out in their finest attire.

Not a sequel, nor a straight-up reboot, Feig's take on the paranormal exterminators has a new crew tending to New York City's ghouls. Kristen Wiig plays Erin Gilbert, Melissa McCarthy is Abby Yates, Kate McKinnon is Jillian Holtzman and Leslie Jones plays Patty Tolan. All together they look pretty badass. Even if they do appear to be encased in an eerie glow. That's got to be Slimer's lair if the color palette is anything to go on.

Neil Casey co-stars as the unnamed big bad, Chris Hemsworth as the team's intern, Andy Garcia as the New York City mayor, with Michael K. Williams and Cecily Strong in two as-yet undisclosed roles. Expect all of your favorite cast members from the original to pop up in brief cameos. Ghostbusters arrives on July 15, 2016.
