Angelina Jolie has been forced to move shooting of her untitled love/war story out of Bosnia because of feminist action.
After the rumours that the plot involved a relationship between a rapist and his victim, several women’s groups lobbied the city officials to revoke the filming permits.
The actual storyline of Jolie’s first directorial feature film debut follows a Serbian man and a Bosnian woman who are separated by the Bosnian War.
During the war 100,000 people were killed, and rape was an off topic after the war because of the size of the issue it was during wartime.
Starring Rade Šerbedžija and Zana Marajanovic, the film has moved the planned Bosnian scenes to Budapest where they were filming anyway.
The permits were reinstated a few days later, but to save further hassle, the production decided the change in location would be best thing all round.
Not a big surprise, but Jolie has also managed to get Brad Pitt to cameo. Nepotism, eh.
