The Hunt For Gollum to premiere on 3 May

The Hunt For Gollum is a Lord Of The Rings independent film made by fans for fans. It looks pretty impressive to us, though, as you'll have seen if you've been following our reports so far. We spoke to the director Chris Brouchard and lead actor Adrian Webster , and unveiled the awesome trailer already, and so now we're pleased to be able to reveal when the final movie will be ready to watch.

The Hunt For Gollum will achieve a milestone for fan films when it becomes the first fan film to be simultaneously released online (at Dailymotion.com ) and screened at the SCI-FI-LONDON festival on 3 May 2009.

Inspired by notes in the appendices from The Lord of the Rings book, The Hunt For Gollum follows Aragon as he sets out to find ol' Gollum and discover the truth about the Ring. The film will run to 40 minutes and is a purely non-profit venture, with the download and festival screening being free. Chris Brouchard started the project over two years ago with a tiny budget and a small number of volunteer cast and crew.
