Where They Hid the Tablet: Ark of the Covenant

The Ark was believed to contain the stone tablets with the Ten Commandants inscribed on them.

But it was a different tablet Indiana’s Third Reich foes knew about - they wanted to get their mitts on the Apple Tablet, long touted for its potential military applications.

Apple aren't one to scrimp on security - with a spot of face-melting enusring the design wasn't leaked ahead of time.

Where They Hid the Tablet : The eponymous statuette

When Sam Spade was asked to track down the falcon statuette, he never realised he would be handling one of the greatest technological advances known to man, at the time at least.

Inside the jewel encrusted statuette was the schematic for the Apple Tablet’s virtual keyboard board feature. If only Sam had known...

Where They Hid the Tablet: The briefcase

The contents of Marsellus Wallace’s glowing briefcase have been a constant source of speculation ever since Tarantino nicked the idea from Kiss Me Deadly .

Some said the briefcase contained Wallace’s soul, or the diamonds from Reservoir Dogs. Other less inventive suggestions ranged from bars of gold to a large lamp.

Truth is Wallace had got his mitts on a shiny new Apple tablet and was desperate to get it back.

Where They Hid the Tablet: The lucky painting

For weeks, the internet has been swamped with links to hundreds of artist's impressions of what the Apple Tablet could or should look like.

If only they had caught a glimpse of this pivotal production artwork from Apple HQ.

No wonder the damn thing is lucky - it has the future painted on it.

Where They Hid the Tablet: The Death Star plans

If it hadn’t been for the plans stored inside R2-D2, the Rebel Alliance would have been, well, screwed.

But, do you really believe it was the force that helped Luke find the thermal exhaust port?

Luke was barely a Padawan and no master of the force, but he did master one of the many incredible features of the Apple Tablet, namely the Interstellar SatNav.

Where They Hid the Tablet : The Wooden Chest

Everyone knows the Dead Man’s Chest contains the still beating heart of Davy Jones.

That’s all well and good, but if Jack Sparrow had bothered to dust the inside of the chest down, he would’ve discovered the real treasure Davy kept close to his heart - the prototype Apple Tablet.

The multiplayer functionality was slightly suspect back then, but the readability of the eBook function would have impressed even the most scurvy sailor.

Where They Hid the Tablet : The All Spark

According to Cybertron legend, the All Spark cube created the Autobots, and for some drama related reason, the cube decided to spawn the Decepticons too.

Apple found the All Spark ages before that though - they've been using it to revolutionise our lives with technolgy since the eMac came out - and will do again when they release the Apple Tablet.
