When will Black Friday gaming deals end?

The sales event of the year traditionally takes place toward the end of November - to be precise, the final Friday of the month. That means you can expect 2025's Black Friday gaming deals to end on Friday, November 28, at midnight.

However, Black Friday deals tend to continue into the following week as well (at which point the savings morph into Cyber Monday gaming deals). That means you should still keep your eyes peeled during the weekend - while the best discounts are reserved for Black Friday itself, lots of good ones will make an appearance after then as well.

Where will the best Black Friday gaming deals be?

Almost everyone tries to get in on Black Friday each year, so you can be sure that any retailer you visit will have price cuts of some description. Still, some are better than others. In our experience, these are the stores to prioritize:

USA

- Amazon: Usually the best for gaming discounts overall
- Dell: Offers a surprising variety of laptop discounts
- Best Buy: Offers surprisingly good PC peripheral deals
- Walmart: Good for general console game discounts
- Microsoft: Great for cheap Xbox games and accessories
- CDKeys: Heavy discounts on PC games
- Newegg: Excellent for PC components
- Gamestop: Regularly offers console bundles and merch discounts

UK

- Amazon: Traditionally the most reliable for variety and price-cuts
- Dell: Good for variety and powerful gaming laptop builds
- Currys: Great for Switch console bundles and general game deals
- Very: Regular discounts on games, consoles, and accessories
- Argos: Low prices often with same day delivery
- The Game Collection: Frequently has some of the best game prices
- CDKeys: Some of the best prices going on PC games
- Game: Big savings on merch and pre-owned games

What to expect from Black Friday gaming deals in 2025

While video game deals themselves get plenty of airtime, accessories receive the lion's share over Black Friday. Headsets, hard drives, and more are typically cut by huge amounts during the sale, and that makes it the best time to grab any peripherals you've had your eye on.

The best offers often feature subscription services like PlayStation Plus or Xbox Game Pass, though. These always seem to get money off toward the end of November (as was the case again last year), and it's a great opportunity to renew your membership - or start a new one - ahead of the new year. Last November's offers could save Xbox players $20 on three months of Game Pass Ultimate, while Sony offered up to 30% off its 12 month PlayStation Plus memberships for new subscribers. Unfortunately, Nintendo Switch Online rarely sees its own savings, though it often comes bundled with new consoles during the holiday season.

Consoles are in a tricky position this year, though. Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo have all raised the prices of their devices in the US this year, with the UK seeing increases on PlayStation and Xbox models as well. Ninty's in a slightly different position. Yes, it's upped the rates on the Switch and Switch OLED, but it's also got the Switch 2 to contend with. That means any discounts we see on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles will likely drop us to around the previous MSRP.

I've listed a few specifics based on platform below.

Nintendo

I'll get one thing out of the way now. Based on previous years, I'm all but 99% certain that the Nintendo Switch 2 won't see any straight discounts over Black Friday this year. It's incredibly rare for Ninty hardware to drop its price this close to launch (I was waiting for years before I saw a discount on the previous handheld), and tariffs have already pushed that $449.99 MSRP to its limit.

However, bundles could tell a different story. I see far more bundle deals in the UK than I do the US, but with Pokemon Legends Z-A due for release with its own bundle in October, there could be more coming our way.

Keep a close eye on the console's launch titles during the latter few months of the year - these are going to represent the highest value savings should they appear. Nintendo Switch launch games hold their price tags for an exceedingly long time (I've only just started to see Mario Kart 8 Deluxe ticking its way down the price range), so any discounts are going to be worth grabbing. However, it will likely be the smaller third party releases that see the majority of the savings come Black Friday 2025.

Accessories are likely going to form the bulk of this year's Black Friday Nintendo Switch deals. While official gadgets like the Pro Controller and extra Joy-Con 2 sets are still a little too fresh to rely on for discounts, third party gadgets from PowerA, PDP, Hori, and Genki are already pretty primed for savings.

PS5

Last year we saw some fantastic game deals for the PS5, as well as a handful of discounts on the Slim consoles themselves. The PS5 Pro was only just out the gate, and took a few smaller price cuts as part of bundles (or full discounts in the UK), but 2025 could be the year the $749 / £699 console makes its first Black Friday play.

That's an expensive device, and everyone knows it. Launching to a lukewarm reception at the end of last year, there wasn't enough going on under the hood to justify that premium price tag. At the start of the year I thought we may see a little extra value added to that product offering, and with extra time on the shelves the Pro could have been the standout in this year's offers. However, a $50 price increase in the US has all but dashed those plans. Expect savings back down to the previous $699.99 MSRP or bundles.

If you have any gaps in your game library from the past year or so, Black Friday PS5 deals offer you a chance to catch up. Everything from hot new releases to old favorites are discounted throughout the event, but it's well worth keeping a close eye on games released in the first half of the year for the biggest savings. Last year Silent Hill 2, Astro Bot, Tekken 8, and Final Fantasy all saw record low prices for the first time during Black Friday gaming deals. I'm watching out for Death Stranding 2, Ghost of Yotei, Borderlands 4, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Assassin's Creed: Shadows, and Elden Ring Nightreign.

Of course, the usual classics are generally discounted during this time as well.

Xbox

Xbox Series X prices have been a bit dire over the last year, and while Black Friday gave us a token $50 discount on the standard console we've seen better in the past. I'm not expecting anything too impressive in 2025 - Microsoft's console can sometimes struggle for stock and bundles are few and far between. That was all true even before Microsoft upped its prices. With very few discounts year to year, I'm not expecting too much from consoles in Black Friday 2025.

If you're already set for a console, though, Game Pass is going to be your next port of call. While they have been a little slow in recent years, Game Pass Ultimate deals actually returned to the shelves last Black Friday. A three month subscription would set you back $21.99 last year, where previous offers had tapped out at $39.99. With Microsoft's continued focus on this subscription (potentially in favor of its console market, if you're to believe certain headlines), I'd expect to see similarly sticky prices in 2025 - though we could get lucky again this year.

Unsurprisingly, this tech-heavy event will also be one to watch if you're hunting down Black Friday gaming PC deals or Black Friday gaming laptop deals. Those devices usually get the most scene-stealing discounts.
