Good Claire, Bad Claire
SCI FI Wire reports that we’re going to see a darker version of rejuve-girl Claire in the third season of Heroes, in the form of a Future Claire who's turned to the Dark Side. "She's very different," says actress Hayden Panettiere, who plays Claire, in an interview at the Television Critics Association's summer press tour. "It's a very different world [in the future], and it's kind of, as you can imagine, a world gone a little bit awry, and she's a very different person than she was." She adds: "I think what we all missed about the second season was that we didn't really get a chance to all work with each other. So we're all crossing paths this season. I mean, it is so hyped, and it is so action-packed and leaves you wonderful cliffhangers. It's a really tremendous season, it really is."
Galactica Producer Reveals Virtual Secrets
Battlestar Galactica producer Ronald D Moore has revealed to SCI FI Wire a few details about his upcoming new telemovie, Virtuality, which is being seen as a backdoor pilot. "It is about a group of astronauts who are on the first long-range mission to another star, which is going to take about 10 years to get there and back," says Moore. "So it's 12 people in a tin can going in a very straight line for a very, very long time. The public and private consortium that put this mission together gave the astronauts virtual-reality headsets that allow them to relax ... in their off hours, and, sure enough, things start going wrong, and they start wondering what's really going on, and certain strange mysteries start occurring. And yet these people are isolated and trapped, just with each other, a very, very long way from home and beyond anyone's help, and they have really only themselves to deal with the strange things that are happening on the ship."
Singer Series for Sci Fi
Coming Soon had a report on a number of new shows announced by the US Sci Fi channel, and while most of them seem to be dreary reality dross, of more interest is an action/adventure mini-series being developed by X-Men/Superman Returns director Bryan Singer. No details as yet, though.
