Fox lining up Paul Feig to direct Play-Doh movie

You could be forgiven for writing this one off as a late April Fool’s joke, but we assure you it’s quite real! Fox is officially developing a Play-Doh movie…

For those of you with no kids and short memories, Play-Doh is the colourful, dough-like substance that can be squeezed into various different shapes. The movie pretty much writes itself, doesn’t it?

Joking aside, The LEGO Movie proved that it’s possible to take a brand name and really run with it, and according to Deadline, Fox is aiming high with an approach to Paul Feig to write and direct the project. The director is currently said to be in talks with the studio.

Feig is currently immersed in his Ghostbusters reboot, so if Fox get their man, the Play-Doh movie will likely have a bit of a wait ahead of it. Let’s hope Silly Putty: The Movie doesn’t beat it to the punch…
