New Man Of Steel image emerges

Whilst we’ve been spoilt for choice over on-set images for The Amazing Spider-Man and The Dark Knight Rises , catching a glimpse of Zack Snyder’s Man Of Steel has proven somewhat trickier for those hankering for morsels of spoilery goodness.

This morning however, we have at least been treated to a new image of Henry Cavill’s Superman, with the Kryptonian posing for a picture with a small boy in what looks like some kind of official building.

The new image gives little away, although we must admit, that suit is beginning to grow on us. We’re particularly liking the darker tone of blue, and that ribbed, Spider-Man-esque texture (no surprise, given co-creator James Acheson worked on costume design for the Sam Raimi trilogy) looks less incongruous here than it did in the first official still.

Cavill himself also looks every inch the benevolent hero, and a more serious looking prospect than Brandon Routh’s preppy incarnation. Just the kind of good-natured guardian you could put on the front page of the Daily Planet !

Co-starring Michael Shannon, Amy Adams, Russell Crowe and Kevin Costner, Man Of Steel will open in the US on 14 June 2013. A UK release date has yet to be confirmed.
