Scarlett Johansson has an album coming out, and we're rejoicing. But we're not just celebrating because it means we get to see music videos featuring our favourite starlet.
No, there's a chance it could actually be good musically, too. It's a collection of 10 Tom Waits covers, David Bowie has contributed vocals to two tracks, Yeah Yeah Yeahs guitarist Nick Zinner plays throughout, and the uber-hip art rock collective Celebration have helped out with several tracks. Hell, it was even produced by TV On The Radio's Dave Sitek.
But because it consists mainly of Waits covers (with a solitary original track, 'Song For Jo'), what counts is what the gravel voiced singer-songwriter thinks. And apparently he's happy.
Scarlett said: "I sent him some of the early, early recordings, and he said, 'Go ahead.' I've heard he's very pleased."
It's called Anywhere I Lay My Head, it's released on May 10, and we think it'll end up in every scenester's record collection. We can't wait to hear it.
