As summer 2026 rolls around, this year's stack of upcoming superhero movies will start to edge closer to theatres. After a rather quiet few years, the superhero genre is heating up again, with multiple Marvel and DC films set to come out in just a matter of months, with even more currently in development, too.
From Marvel Phase 6, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to make July a little more interesting as Tom Holland takes on his fourth solo Spidey movie,. Then, just in time for Christmas, we will see Robert Downey Jr. enter his villain era as Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday. As for DCU: Chapter One, Milly Alcock's Supergirl will take on a string of rather chilling baddies in her first solo movie. Then this Halloween, DC Studios will scare us silly with horror hero mash up Clayface, which has just released its first chilling trailer giving us a peek at the villian's origins.

New superhero movies (TBA)
Several upcoming superhero movies have been announced and are in various stages of pre-development. However, there's no guarantee that any of these (bar a few MCU and DC offerings) will make it to the big screen. But they're worth keeping an eye on, nonetheless!
Previous DC projects, such as Gotham City Sirens and Green Lantern Corps, are now dead under the new DC Studios regime. Co-CEO James Gunn announced the slate for DCU's Chapter One: Gods and Monsters in January 2023. But, a new Wonder Woman movie is on the way.
Luckily, there are still plenty of flicks in the works and a well of titles we can re-watch in the meantime. Speaking of, if you are still playing catch up on the various superhero universes, you'll need our guides on how to watch the Marvel movies in order and the DC movies in order.
