Nicole Kidman is close to signing on to Our Wild Life , a drama set in a Kenya wildlife conserve.

She’s interested in the role of Dame Daphne Sheldrick, who in real life worked with elephants in the conserve, rearing more than 70 of the beasts in her lifetime.

Though Kidman is yet to officially sign on to the film, she’s reportedly taken a shine to Jeff Stockwell’s ( Bride To Terabithia ) script.

Budgeted around $50m, Phillip Noyce ( Salt ) is set to direct, with production aiming for a September start date.

Kidman hit the big time with another low-key drama, Rabbit Hole , earlier this year, which earned her another Oscar nomination.

If her ability to find interesting, low-profile scripts and give them a boost with her star power remains, Our Wild Life could be one to watch come Oscar time.
