PlayStation Store sale to offer 11 games at half price starting tomorrow

If you've been eying some downloadable PS3 games over on the PlayStation Store, now may be just the right time to snatch them up. Sony is discounting 11 of its highest-profile titles for a limited time.

Seriously. This isn't like your typical gaming sale where the only stuff cut in price are games you'd never pay a penny for anyway. There's good options here!

Whether it's getting your casual gaming on with a classic hit like Peggle, or experiencing 3D gaming on your new TV with MotorStorm 3D Rift, there's a lot of great games in this sale.

It's the "11 for 2011" sale, highlighting some of the highest-rated PSN games for the new year. And without further ado, here's the list:

  • Costume Quest – $7.49 sale price; $14.99 regular price
  • Deathspank Thongs of Virtue – $7.49 sale price; $14.99 regular price
  • Hoard – $7.49 sale price; $14.99 regular price
  • Soldner-X2: Final Prototype – $6.49 sale price; $12.99 regular price
  • MotorStorm 3D Rift – $4.99 sale price; $9.99 regular price
  • Peggle – $4.99 sale price; $9.99 regular price
  • Space Invaders Infinity Gene – $4.99 sale price; $9.99 regular price
  • Swords and Soliders – $4.99 sale price; $9.99 regular price
  • Tumble – $4.99 sale price; $9.99 regular price
  • Comet Crash – $4.99 sale price; $9.99 regular price
  • Shatter – $3.99 sale price; $7.99 regular price

But don't point your PS3s to the PlayStation Store yet. This sale won't go into effect until tomorrow, along with the store's regular weekly update. Once it hits, these prices will be valid until January 31. So now that your wallet is starting to slowly recover from the wallet-draining December month, why not pick up some worthy PS3 games at a pretty decent price?

Sale is still not live. Shitty PR on Sony's behalf. I want Costume Quest!

So far I'm not interested. Why don't they give me discounts on games I actually want? $5 for Pain, $10 for Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection, $.99 for most music downloads, $7.50 for X-Men: Arcade, and $5 for Crazy Taxi.

    Maybe Costume Quest. Maybe.

Everyone pick up Shatter this instant.

terrible sale, most of these that were on Steam and went on sale were half the price of the PSNs discounted price. Like I got Shatter for $1.75

BOOO i was hoping for Joe Danger.

So if I want a game that I want to be sold at a reduced price, instead of buying a game I don't want or already have, I'm being a self entitled prick. Yeaaahhhnope.

The commentss here are proving my theory, that gamers, as a whole, are self entitled pricks. 'They didn't do something I liked, so screw them. They should've done this...' Personally, there are 6 games on there that I'm looking to purchase.

I have yet to finish the first DeathSpank... might get the other anyway since it's cheap.
  • Hydrohs - January 24, 2011 9:50 p.m.

At that price I think I'll try out Costume Quest.
  • paganpoet - January 24, 2011 9:46 p.m.

Oh, I can finally get Costume Quest. =]
  • Jayzilla - January 24, 2011 9:40 p.m.

    Shatter was fantastic
  • ventanger - January 24, 2011 9:28 p.m.

Shoot... was hoping for Scott Pilgrim

@GamesradarTylerWilde To be honest I don't actually like Costume Quest that much, I played the demo, and I wasn't happy with it. I liked the concept and it was funny will the visuals were also great. But the combat slightly bored me, to me a RPG is more then just 2 moves, also I just found it boring going door to door doing the same thing over and over. Swords & Soldier, actually haven't tried it, actually didn't see it on there till you said it. How good is it anyway?
  • city17fan - January 24, 2011 8:46 p.m.

Now that Costume Quest is at the price it should be, I will buy it. I will also pick up Space Invaders because I really loved the demo.

@EvilChicken: Same here. Much of these games were on sale on Steam for much cheaper. At least with that, we know we can keep playing our games on our PCs/Macs for as long as Valve lets us. I'm more weary of PSN/XBL titles as we have yet to know for sure if our rights to play such games will exist and be available on the next generation of consoles.

Think they should have put Joe Danger in a sale because it is really good and seems to be somewhat overlooked
  • Kage_No_Shi - January 24, 2011 8:38 p.m.

Eh, I might try Costume Quest. Will consider Infinity Gene, but I don't think I'll get that.
  • ConfirmGooseBumps - January 24, 2011 8:37 p.m.

    Nothing too interesting.
  • GamesRadarTylerWilde - January 24, 2011 8:36 p.m.

Costume Quest and Swords & Soldiers not good enough for you?
