It’s awards season – ever fancied yourself as one of the people who helps decide who gets a gong and who leaves the show crying in their limo?
Public Choice 2006 is part of the British Animation Awards (BAA) and it means you get the chance to view and vote for a bunch of short films, music videos and commercials. The viewings are in three mixed programs dotted around various London and regional cinemas – and it also gives the filmmaker a shot at seeing their hard work displayed onscreen.
Jayne Pilling, director of BAA says: “The Public Choice award highlights and celebrates the astonishing wealth of animation talent to be found in Britain across all sections of this highly diverse industry encompassing short films, commercials and music videos.”
Some of the contenders this year are Gorillaz music video for their single, Dare, and the visually stunning City Paradise by previous winner Gaelle Denis.

The winners will be crowned at the BAAs on 9 March at the Shaw Theatre in London.
