Sam Mendes has been discussing the commitment involved in making a Bond film, and has confirmed that SPECTRE will be the final film he directs in the franchise.
"I don’t think I could go down that road again," said Mendes during an appearance on the BBC's cricket broadcast, Test Match Special. "You do have to put everything else on hold. It really is more of a lifestyle choice than a job."
"This is a bigger movie than Skyfall," he said of the herculean task he has now completed. "It’s shot in more places. We were in Mexico City and Tangiers and northern Sahara and Rome and the Alps and London. It was an enormous undertaking."
Mendes also confirmed that the theme song has already been recorded, but wouldn't spill the beans on either its title or performer, hinting that we "won't have to wait long" to find out. Co-starring Daniel Craig, Christoph Waltz and Lea Seydoux, SPECTRE will open in the UK on 26 October 2015 and the US on 6 November 2015.
