The Ghostbusters were never a well-funded joint, and their gear reflected their nature as the equivalent of a garage band. Having lasers mounted on the handlebars via duct tape and a basket full of random, industrial-looking objects on the tail end is absolutely in keeping with the standards and practices laid down by Bill Murray, Dan Akroyd, Harold Ramis, and Ernie Hudson in 1984.
Directed by Paul Feig and starring Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, and Chris Hemsworth, Ghostbusters opens in UK and US cinemas on July 15, 2016.
