JK Simmons, still best known for the Spider-Man franchise and Juno, has joined An Invisible Sign Of My Own, which stars Jessica Alba.
Chris Messina (last seen in Vicky Cristina Barcelona) has also been added to the cast, playing a science teacher who helps a sheltered maths tutor break out of her shell.
The Hollywood Reporter doesn’t mention what Simmons is playing, but we’re predicting grouchy yet loveable headmaster.
Amelie-style
Marilyn Agrelo’s indie film is being described as Amelie-like, with a shy, nervous female lead slowly discovering that there’s more to life than her cloistered world.
Though given that Alba is already sexy, we’re hoping it won’t turn into another She’s All That-esque, “oh-she-was-attractive-behind-her-glasses” tale.
