Brad Caleb Kane has been hired by 20th Century Fox to pen its cinematic reboot of comic-book hero Daredevil.

Kane has served as a scripter on two seasons of sci-fi TV show Fringe , and will be basing his Daredevil script on a popular arc from the Daredevil comics called ‘Born Again’.

Penned by Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli in 1986, ‘Born Again’ sees Daredevil go mad at the hands of nemesis Kingpin after the latter discovers the hero’s secret identity by bribing his secretary.

The first issue of the story was voted by comic fans as the 11th Greatest Marvels of All Time in 2001.

30 Days Of Night director David Slade is attached to helm this new Daredevil .

The 2003 adaptation of Daredevil starring Ben Affleck was almost universally derided, and it looks like Fox is doing its best - hiring a hot ticket director and adapting a fan favourite story - to ensure that history doesn't repeat itself.
