Will Smith and more confirmed for Suicide Squad

After reporting yesterday that several big stars were in final negotiations to join Suicide Squad, we’ve news to bring you this morning of a whole batch of official casting confirmations.

It had previously been rumoured that Will Smith, Tom Hardy, Margot Robbie, Jai Courtney, and Cara Delevingne would all be appearing in the comic-book adaptation, and as it turns out, every one of those has turned out to be true!

Smith will be starring as Batman regular, Deadshot, with Jared Leto appearing as The Joker and Margot Robbie as the villainously unhinged Harley Quinn.

Tom Hardy will play Rick Flag, leader of the group, while Jai Courtney will be Captain Boomerang, nemesis of The Flash. Meanwhile, Cara Delavingne will play a magically-powered villain named Enchantress.

In addition to the above, it has also been suggested that Oprah Winfrey is in line to play Amanda Waller, although that has yet to be officially announced.

Directed by David Ayer, Suicide Squad will open in the US on 5 August 2016, with a UK date yet to be confirmed.
