Warner planning to remake The Fugitive

Warner is moving forwards with a new version of The Fugitive, with Deadline reporting that the studio has charged screenwriter Christina Hodson with writing a script.

The report doesn't clarify exactly what form the film will take, although the most obvious option would be a straight remake. The original film was of course an adaptation of the popular TV show of the same name, which ran back in the 1960s.

Arnold and Anne Kopelson served as producers on the first film, and both will be returning for duty this time around, although there is no suggestion that original stars Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones will also be making a reappearance. Hopefully this new version of the film will recapture some of the thriller elements of the original film, rather than reworking things as a straightforward actioner…
