Alien: Covenant has a new release date & The Predator is out in 2018

We've heard plenty about the Prometheus sequel now. Not only has Ridley Scott confirmed Alien: Covenant will have every type of xenomorph, it's also the middle chapter of a Prometheus trilogy, and will even have a "pretty hard" R rating. All things we like. And now, just to make it all better, 20th Century Fox has brought its release date forward to August 4, 2017.

The Fassbender starring sci-fi epic was previously slated for an October 2017 release so this is great news for next summer's blockbusters. Only last week we heard about four willing new lambs to the alien slaughter as Purge: Anarchy actress Carmen Ejego, Jussie Smollett, Amy Seimetz and Callie Hernandez joined Katherine Waterston as members of the colony ship who arrive on a distant planet inhabited only by Michael Fassbender's android, David.

In other release date news, The Predator has now been confirmed for its cinema outing on March 2, 2018. We got eyes on the new poster a few weeks back but don't know too much other than the fact that Iron Man 3 and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang director Shane Black is in the chair. There's also a script from Black and Fred Dekker which has had me laughing for far too long about them making the Predator not look like too much of a tool.
