PlayStation Move games already on sale, even though Move isn't

PlayStation Move peripherals won't be out until September 14, but some stores have apparently already received shipments of Move launch games. Clueless employees have begun putting them on the shelves, offering consumers the fine opportunity to read instruction manuals 600 times over before they can actually play the games.

Neocrisis has posted some screenshots from a Wal-Mart with Start the Party, Kung Fu Rider, and Sports Champions on display. Of course, they all carry a label on the front cover which states "PlayStation Move Required." Good luck with that.

A commenter on the article wrote, "I work for gamestop and yesterday we got a shipment with the above games mentioned. also showing that it is up for sale. of course [it] seemed odd for the very same reason that u mentioned. the peripherals needed to play these aren't out! so we decided to not put them up for display, but of course if people requested either game we would sell it to them." Why turn down money, right?

I was at the GameStop in New Jersey's Menlo Park Mall last night and saw all of these games for sale, in addition to EyePet. The latter also features a Sony 3D logo on the box and is now officially the first full Blu-ray Disc-based PS3 game to support stereoscopic 3D TVs.

Above: With the release of these launch titles, you better start counting down. It's just 4 days before you'll be able to have as much fun as this pretend family

This reminds us of when Xbox 360 Kinect demos started popping up on the Xbox Live Marketplace. All we need now is somewhere to purchase 3DS games.

Microsoft had games for sale weeks before the Xbox 360 actually launched. It's expected?

********************************************** ******PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT************** ********************************************** Hate to admit it but i work at walmart (job while going to school -_-). The decision to put these games out is not the employees decision it is a corporate decision(home office or some crap) they give us a mod sheet (a sheet with tags that tells us what to put out and where) and we do as we are told just like good little employees. The games can be sold so they do go out if they cannot be sold they would be denied at the register. I know this for a fact because we checked today at work. Me and another employee (he is a douche to let you all know irrelevant i know but nevertheless) say them and said "WTF mate?1?" so we checked them out then decided that corporate was retarded and took them off. so to let you all know IT WASNT THE EMPLOYEES IT WAS CORPORATE THEY ARE RETARDED NOT US. we just get the shaft constantly

i can't see this playstation move thing going far anyways.. cuz it's mostly kids that play the motion games.. and most motion games aren't big hits, such as GTA, Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Metal Gear, etc. etc.. I'd love to see call of duty, and most other first person shooter games for the playstation wii lol

I realize this could be the stores fault, but if it was, why don't they put Halo Reach on shelves, too. It comes out on the same day. recaptcha: copyright (the c in a circle that I can't find on my keyboard) 1990 jansoom

Microsoft puts up Kinect demos before Kinect is released so Sony decides to one-up their stupid by releasing games that we can't use early. Poor casual gamers who don't look into this stuff and won't realize they bought something they can't use (although I'm guessing they'll ask what Move is since it's there on the box and realize the mistake, hopefully)

Not sure why this is a surprise... I could barely tell you that this is a mistake and I like to think I follow the industry fairly closely. Insert Walmart employee who is given a box of games Monday night and told to put them on the shelves for tommorrow. "Well hold on now, boss. This game says you must have the Playstation Move peripheral (the most innovative and revolutionary video game peripheral of all time) to play it. As a Walmart employee I keep up on every video game and hardware release date and let me tell you, this just isn't matching up!" Not likely... Also, if one good thing has come from all this motion control crap it's the promotional photos. In this one, I imagine the man on the couch has used PS Move as Candy 3000 to lure these three children (would say girls, but I'm not %100 sure of the one on the right) back to his house where he will film them in swimsuits in his basement like that episode of "Boy Meets World."

  • Chickenfoot - September 11, 2010 5:03 a.m.

Sooo... *cough cough* Would you say the retailers are "move"ing a bit too fast? Sorry about that.
  • MartiniMan - September 11, 2010 2:28 a.m.

Even worse...it doesn't officially release until 9/17. Even more waiting for those who buy the games first!!!
  • IsaacFenix - September 11, 2010 1:50 a.m.

Well, if you really want those 3DS games now. I know a guy who knows a guy who robs children's dreams, tell me what you want and I'll hook you up.
  • mynameisjay - September 11, 2010 1:30 a.m.

I think those actors are probably the only people excited about the Playstation Move.
  • admjwt - September 11, 2010 1:27 a.m.

sometimes i wonder what goes througfh peoples heads when they do crap like that. if move isnt out then why would you buy the game or even put it ot on display for that matter. you cant play the game until move isreleased so whats the piont
  • Onepersonwithnoopinion - September 11, 2010 1:02 a.m.

So I'm guessing that Subway contest is pointless now, eh? And are these the only launch games that are coming out or are there more that just haven't been shipped yet?
  • sleepy92ismypsn - September 11, 2010 1:02 a.m.

Oh Yea I noticed they had them in Wal-mart a couple days ago. Who is going to buy games they can't even play yet?
