(Sorority) girls just wanna have fun in Bad Neighbours 2: Sorority Rising trailer

By definition comedy sequels have a lot to prove. Bad Neighbours 2: Sorority Rising - or Neighbors 2 as it's called in the US - finds itself in that unenviable position, by setting out to top the 2014 original. This sequel, however, has the original cast and crew returning to battle a new threat which is a promising start.

Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne reprise their roles as 30-something parents who now live next door to a rowdy sorority instead of an obnoxious fraternity. Desperate to sell their house, and worried that the endless partying will deter buyers, they enlist the help of those same brothers, led by Zac Efron and Dave Franco, to overthrow the ladies of Kappa Nu. Feast your eyes on the first raucous trailer...

It's hardly a major departure from the first outing, and that's no surprise after it raked in $270 million worldwide on an $18 million budget. Still with newcomer Chloe Grace Moretz upping the sass quotient as the Kappa Nu leader there might be enough fresh material to make this a sequel worth watching.

Directed by Nicholas Stoller, and starring Zac Efron, Seth Rogen, Rose Byrne, Rose Byrne, Dave Franco, Carla Gallo, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Selena Gomez, and Lisa Kudrow, Bad Neighbours 2: Sorority Rising opens in the UK on May 6, and the US on May 20.
