Irrfan Khan and Omar Sy join Ron Howards Inferno

Inferno, Ron Howard’s next instalment in his series of Dan Brown adaptations, has added a pair of new names to its ensemble, with Omar Sy and Irrfan Khan signing on to join the production.

The pair are also joined by Danish actress Sidse Babett Knudsen, best known for her work on the TV show, Borgen. All three have been officially confirmed by Columbia Pictures.

Khan will play Harry Sims, a character known as “The Provost”, while Sy will appear as Christoph Bruder and Knudsen will play Elizabeth Sinskey, the head of the World Health Organization.

The new film picks up with Tom Hanks’ Robert Langdon waking in an Italian hospital with a bad case of amnesia before teaming up with Felicity Jones’ nurse to try and thwart a lunatic from unleashing a Dante-inspired plague upon the globe.

Directed by Howard from a script by David Koepp, Inferno will open in the UK and US on 14 October 2016.
