Captain America: Civil War confirms synopsis and start date

Captain America: Civil War is set to begin production in just two weeks time, with casting notices for extras revealing a start date of 1 April 2015.

A brief synopsis has also been issued along with the casting call, revealing a few key plot points that confirm how connected the film is to Avengers: Age Of Ultron.

“Following the events of Age Of Ultron, the collective governments of the world pass an act designed to regulate all superhuman activity,” reads the official blurb. “This polarizes opinion amongst the Avengers, causing two factions to side with Iron Man or Captain America, which causes an epic battle between former allies.”

Nothing much there that we didn’t already expect, but nonetheless, it’s still exciting to see the battle lines being drawn between Tony Stark and Steve Rogers. Looks like the MCU is about to kick it up a gear…

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo and co-starring Chris Evans, Robert Downey Junior and Scarlett Johansson, Captain America: Civil War will open in the UK on 29 April 2016 and the US on 6 May 2016.
