David Heyman gives a Fantastic Beasts update

Producer David Heyman has been discussing J.K. Rowling’s Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, revealing that filming is set to get underway on the project this summer.

Excitingly, Heyman also confirmed that production designer Stuart Craig is officially on board for the spin-off, having brought the world of Hogwarts to life in such thrilling fashion in the main movie series.

“The experience of conjuring up these worlds is such fun,” says Heyman to Collider. “So to do it with [Rowling] and with Steve Kloves and Lionel Wigram is involved too, and with David Yates, and Stuart Craig will be designing it… it’s great. It’s exciting, and it’s a great world to return to.”

“We will shoot later on this year,” he continues. “The plan is to shoot late summer. We’re making just one film, but I believe there’s been talk about it being three. But we’re just talking about it as one.”

If the film performs anything like as well as previous Potter outings, we’d say those sequels are something of a formality… Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them will open in the UK and US on 18 November 2016.
