Ben Mendelsohn hits the tables in first Mississippi Grind trailer

The first trailer has appeared for Mississippi Grind, in which Ben Mendelsohn's gambling addict ropes in Ryan Reynolds as his lucky charm for a road trip down to New Orleans, home of a legendary high stakes poker game.

Mendelsohn is a born loser, up to his neck in debt and struggling to catch a break. Reynolds on the other hand is an easy-breezy poker player, who's secret is that he "doesn't care about winning". A dream team on paper? Not so much, but they certainly make for a watchable double-act on screen. Check out the new trailer, below…

Reynolds looks to be on great form here, in a departure from his usual wiseass routine, while we would happily watch Mendelsohn reading out the phone book, such is his magnetism. Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck and co-starring Sienna Miller, Analeigh Tipton and Robin Weigert, Mississippi Grind will open in the US on September 25, 2015 with a UK date to be confirmed.
