We can now announce that the cover of PC Gamer’s Holiday issue is, in fact, the exclusive first-look at Star Wars: The Old Republic. We traveled to BioWare’s Austin studio and sat down with Drs. Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk to get the full story on the game that today joins the list of most-anticipated upcoming PC games. Subscribers, you’ll start getting the issue in your mailboxes this week. Everybody else, check the newsstands on Tuesday, November 11.

    magicwalnuts0, keep in mind that because of lucasarts direct involvement in their work, which includes both SWG and this new TOR, they have learned from their mistakes. Evidence from the interviews with the developers says that they can take from certain connected things, such as SWG or even WAR, because it's owned by EA. This means that Bioware has even more tools than just their general awesomeness to make a kickass mmo.

    I hope this isn't an MMO, as that genre is sadly becoming stale and moldy, though clearly it's still a cash-cow for many devs, despite the potential pitfalls. I hope we're not looking at "SW Galaxies 2", but rather "KOTOR 3".

    SWG was made by Sony Online, thus (thank god) this will have nothing to do with it whatsoever. I'm kind of disappointed by this though. I would have preferred a straight KOTOR3, but I trust Bioware, they'll probably make an awesome MMO.

    SWG and jump to lightspeed where totally awsome before the combat overhual witch totally ruined everything, since this is obviously gona be an mmo hopefully they learned from their mistakes.

    Are you sure this coverage is exclusive? I just read about this product in detail on GameSpot last night (the same date listed at the bottom of this PCG announcement).

    SWG BEFORE it got nerfed was awesome...not that KotoR didn't rock my socks off as well. But I think that because of WoW, we won't be seeing an open-ended roleplaying expereience, but rather a well crafted mechanism for mindless fun. Both are good, but which do you prefer?

    Its a MMO, so it will most likely PC only. unless someone thinks of a magical way for there the be a console and PC mmo that is fair to both sides that is.
