Black Friday VR headset deals - FAQ

A woman wearing the Steam Frame headset

When will the Black Friday VR headset deals end?

This year, we're staring down the barrel of a November 28 official end for Black Friday at midnight, but like every year, the deals will likely stay live over the weekend. There is also likely to be further discounts for Cyber Monday, so don't worry, there are plenty of deals to be had still!

Where will the best Black Friday VR headset deals be?

While we'll be listing all the best offers here during Black Friday itself, we'd recommend checking out the following retailers if you'd prefer to make your own way in the meantime. These are all typically reliable sources for Black Friday VR headset deals.

US

- Amazon: Best for variety and official bundles
- Best Buy: Good for accessories and can include free gifts
- B&H Photo: Known for offering rare price drops
- Newegg: Make savings on renewed models and accessories
- Meta: Here's where you'll find official price drops
- Target: Grab your headset up that day with in-store pickup
- Walmart: Usually stocks bundles on accessories

UK

- Amazon: Typically best for variety
- Argos: Previously offered Oculus Go discounts
- Currys: Great for accessory bundles with regular discounts
- John Lewis: Two-year guarantee included
- Meta: Go straight to the source for the best discounts
- Very: Regular Meta stock and often price-matches

Black Friday VR headset deals - what to expect

The Meta Quest 3 and 3S on a desk in front of green lighting

(Image credit: Future / Duncan Robertson)

It's very tricky to predict the play-by-play ahead of time this year, since there's an awful lot going on in the VR realm. Let's start with the most affordable, popular, and accessible headsets first, since it's what the majority of people will likely be hunting for when Black Friday VR headset deals kick off.

The Quest 3S has seen discounts for both Prime Days this year, while the Quest 3 512GB model has sat sulking at full price. This is the first year since the Quest 3 launched that we don't have a new Quest headset hitting the shelves, which in my eyes, means big discounts on existing ones. The looming arrival of the Quest-exclusive Deadpool VR game makes me think we'll see a new bundle for the Quest 3 headsets. The Batman Arkham Shadow bundle has been hanging on this year, but you can just tell it's on the way out when a much more "Meta" hero arrives.

YouTube YouTube
Watch On

PSVR 2, our current best overall pick in the VR race, will likely see a price cut, although since it took a permanent price dip last year, its deals have been a little quieter. I'd suspect we'll see a repeat of the Days of Play sale for PSVR 2, but the lack of a new bundle makes it hard for it to feel fresh among so many other newer devices.

PSVR 2 Review Image with headset and controllers on a desk

If you're in the UK and you're looking for an alternative to the Quest 3 or 3S, look no further than the Pico 4 Ultra. It's an excellent headset that saw some great discounts in the lead up to October Prime Big Deal Days, and I'd imagine it'll be available for continual discounts in the lead up to Black Friday.

In the US, if you can stomach a heftier price, the HTC Vive Focus Vision is waiting for you, and anyone else who plans to hook it up to a gaming PC. I'm yet to test this headset out, but I hope to give you a verdict on it before we get to Black Friday. HTC has been fairly quiet on discounts this year when it comes to the Focus Vision, although older devices like the Vive Pro 2 and the XR Elite have both had a few discounts. Maybe The Focus Vision will celebrate big this Black Friday to make up for it.

A close up of the Steam Frame headset

Then of course, we have to think about what's waiting in the wings. Valve Deckard has been rumoured to be in the works for all of this year, and it's finally been revealed as the Steam Frame, launching in early 2026. I had slightly hoped it would just be immediately launched at the tail end of 2025, since that would have caused deal-irium for all the other headsets desperately trying to compete during Black Friday.

As it stands, that could still happen. I imagine the folks at Meta, HTC, Pico, and to a certain extent, PlayStation, will all be keen to state their claim over the VR gaming market before Valve swoops in next year to steal all the glory. At least, we can hope.

It all depends on price though, because so far, we don't have a price or a specific release date for Valve's upcoming headset. According to the rumours, Deckard is meant to be priced close to $1,000, which puts it most closely against the HTC Vive Focus Vision - which is why I'd expect that headset to see a price cut in this year's sale. If the Steam Frame manages to keep its price down below the ~$1,000 mark, the Quest 3 devices might be in trouble.

HTC Vive Pro 2

As if all that excitement wasn't enough, Samsung has now launched Galaxy XR, which had been rumoured and in development for a long old time. We now know it's very similar to the Apple Vision Pro, but its capacity for gaming has a lot more potential, not least because it has controllers you can buy separately. Running on Android, though, it has access to a lot of games, and Google is adding an entirely new XR section to the Play Store, which will mean more immersive VR games will run natively on it thanks to Meta's Horizon OS already being a version of Android and having a lot of compatible games. Galaxy XR will also be able to link up with a PC or laptop, so you can play games on it that way too.

The day it launched, Meta was quick to give its Quest 3S headsets a $50 discount, which didn't last too long, but it speaks to my point that the market is about to get very competitive.

Still, that leaves room for PSVR 2, Pico 4 Ultra, and the Meta Quest devices to make a play this November, and I think there's no better way to get competitive when a new rival enters the arena than offering people a big price cut.
