Black Friday VR headset deals will make their return late this November, and it could be a very, very interesting year to shop for them. Not only has VR tech been seeing a resurgence in the last few years, but the best features these devices have to offer have never been more affordable. What were once highly expensive high-end devices are now a lot more approachable, and it looks like even newer competitors are about to arrive.

2025 has been a weirdly quiet year for the best VR headsets, but you wouldn't know it from the amount of news, rumours, speculation, and anticipation that's been going on for headsets that are in development. PSVR 2 and Meta Quest 3 have been leading the charge in the current market, but with the Quest 3S on the shelves at a very affordable price, there are lots of options to choose from. What's more, Valve Deckard is supposed to launch before the end of the year, and Samsung's long-awaited take on the Apple Vision Pro could arrive any day now, too.

As we get closer to the big November sale, I'll be updating this page with what you should expect, answers to frequently asked questions, and early deals for those who want to get ahead of the competition. If you scroll all the way down, you'll find a list of last year's best offers, which might give you an idea of what to budget for.

Black Friday VR headset deals - FAQ

When will the Black Friday VR headset deals start?

This year, we're staring down the barrel of a November 28 official start for Black Friday, but like every year, the deals will start rolling in well before. Depending on how the supposed release of Valve Deckard and the new Samsung headset play out, we could see discounts on headsets long before. That said, most of the biggest discounts (especially to the most popular headsets) will likely return for Black Friday proper.

Where will the best Black Friday VR headset deals be?

While we'll be listing all the best offers here during Black Friday itself, we'd recommend checking out the following retailers if you'd prefer to make your own way in the meantime. These are all typically reliable sources for Black Friday VR headset deals.

US

- Amazon: Best for variety and official bundles
- Best Buy: Good for accessories and can include free gifts
- B&H Photo: Known for offering rare price drops
- Newegg: Make savings on renewed models and accessories
- Meta: Here's where you'll find official price drops
- Target: Grab your headset up that day with in-store pickup
- Walmart: Usually stocks bundles on accessories

UK

- Amazon: Typically best for variety
- Argos: Previously offered Oculus Go discounts
- Currys: Great for accessory bundles with regular discounts
- John Lewis: Two-year guarantee included
- Meta: Go straight to the source for the best discounts
- Very: Regular Meta stock and often price-matches

Black Friday VR headset deals - what to expect

The Meta Quest 3 and 3S on a desk in front of green lighting

(Image credit: Future / Duncan Robertson)

It's very tricky to predict the play-by-play ahead of time this year, since there's an awful lot going on in the VR realm. Lets start with the most affordable, popular, and accessible headsets first, since it's what the majority of people will likely be hunting for when Black Friday VR headset deals kick off. The Quest 3S has seen discounts for both Prime Days this year, while the Quest 3 512GB model has sat sulking at full price. This is the first year since the Quest 3 launched that we don't have a new Quest headset hitting the shelves, which in my eyes, means big discounts on existing ones. The looming arrival of the Quest-exclusive Deadpool VR game makes me think we'll see a new bundle for the Quest 3 headsets. The Batman Arkham Shadow bundle has been hanging on this year, but you can just tell it's on the way out when a much more "Meta" hero arrives.

PSVR 2, our current best overall pick in the VR race, will likely see a price cut, although since it took a permanent price dip last year, its deals have been a little quieter. I'd suspect we'll see a repeat of the Days of Play sale for PSVR 2, but the lack of a new bundle makes it hard for it to feel fresh among so many other newer devices.

If you're in the UK and you're looking for an alternative to the Quest 3 or 3S, look no further than the Pico 4 Ultra. It's an excellent headset that saw some great discounts in the lead up to October Prime Big Deal Days, and I'd imagine it'll be available for continual discounts in the lead up to Black Friday.

In the US, if you can stomach a heftier price, the HTC Vive Focus Vision is waiting for you, and anyone else who plans to hook it up to a gaming PC. I'm yet to test this headset out, but I hope to give you a verdict on it before we get to Black Friday. HTC has been fairly quiet on discounts this year when it comes to the Focus Vision, although older devices like the Vive Pro 2 and the XR Elite have both had a few discounts. Maybe The Focus Vision will celebrate big this Black Friday to make up for it.

A patent for a Valve VR headset on a white background

Then of course, we have to think about what's apparently waiting in the wings. Valve Deckard has been a heavily rumoured, speculated, and hyped device that's meant to arrive this year. With only a few months year before the end of 2025, time is running out for Valve to unveil and launch its successor to the Index.

If Valve does launch a new headset before Black Friday, I'd expect the rest of the field to adapt quickly. According to the rumours, Deckard is meant to be priced close to $1,000, which puts it most closely against the HTC Vive Focus Vision - which is why I'd expect that headset to see a price cut in this year's sale.

Still, that leaves room for PSVR 2, Pico 4 Ultra, and the Meta Quest devices to make a play, and I think there's no better way to get competitive when a new rival enters the arena than offering people a big price cut.

But that's not all, Samsung and Google's long-awaited headset, codenamed Project Moohan is also supposed to launch this year, again, before Black Friday. I don't think this will have quite the gaming appeal of a Valve Index sequel, but it could right the wrongs of Apple Vision Pro and aim itself more at gamers. Either way, it looks like a high-end device, so how all of the other HMDs react with prices is going to be very interesting this year.

Last year's best Black Friday VR headset deals

Warning! To scroll down beyond this point is to travel back in time to November 2024. These deals have all been frozen on ice since, and brought out to thaw since the start of October. They're all talking about deals that were, so don't think these are things you can make the most of now. Hopefully, these will help you to budget for the 2025 sale and get a feel for how much you'll need to save, and how much you'll be able to save on whatever you buy - see what I did there?

One of my earliest memories is playing SuperMario64 and wondering why the controller I held had three grips, but I only had two hands. Ever since I've been in love with video games and their technology. After graduating from Edinburgh Napier University with a degree in Journalism, I contributed to the Scottish Games Network and completed an Editorial Internship at Expert Reviews. Over the last decade, I’ve been managing my own YouTube channel about my love of games too.
