Black Friday PS5 deals 2024: everything we can expect this year

Black Friday PS5 deals will return to our shelves in November 2024, so whether you're after a new console or just a refresh of your games and accessories collection it's well worth looking ahead. We're still months away from this year's holiday sales, but if you're wondering whether to go ahead and buy before Black Friday kicks off you're in the right place.

We track PS5 deals year-round, watching for the highest quality PS5 bundles and waiting for discounts on cheap PS5 games. We're bringing all that experience right here, rounding up everything we can expect from Black Friday PS5 deals in 2024. After last year's excellent package options and solid range of game discounts, we're looking forward to even bigger savings this year.

Of course, when the time comes, we'll be bringing you all the season's biggest discounts but until then here's everything we expect to see from the annual sales.

What to expect from Black Friday PS5 deals in 2024

We'll start with the big one - console discounts. The PS5 enjoyed a fantastic sales season over the summer, dropping the $499 console down to $449 in the US and from £479 to £399 in the UK over the course of a couple of weeks in August. The PS5 Slim has already proved itself friendlier in last year's Black Friday PS5 deals as well, packing a free game in with the $499 / £479 MSRP. Time will tell whether or not we see additional discounts in 2024 - it's likely that last year's $449 / £399 record lows were in preparation for the new device's release (and likely won't return to the Slim for some time). However, we could be seeing $20 or £50 off in November 2024.

However, where we absolutely can expect deals is in PS5 games. Dead Island 2, Street Fighter 6, Resident Evil 4, Dead Space Remake, Assassins' Creed: Mirage, and Hogwarts Legacy were all 2023 releases seeing record low prices over Black Friday last year. The majority of these titles hit the shelves in the first half of the year, so it's well worth keeping an eye on the release slate for 2024 to see where your savings might go this Fall. However, we can also expect the usual suspects to turn up; God of War: Ragnarok, Horizon Forbidden West, Spider-Man Miles Morales, and Sackboy: A Big Adventure are all mainstays of Black Friday PS5 deals these days.

In addition to the games, there are usually some discounts on peripherals. The official Pulse 3D headset had a brand-new lowest-ever price of just under $70 last year, and loads of third-party peripherals saw some massive cuts. One we heartily recommend considering this year, as we do ever year, is a PS5 SSD. The Samsung 980 PRO for example with heatsink was brand-new in 2021 and has seen its price steadily drop to just over $100, along with the WD BLACK SN850, which represents a ratio of nearly 1TB of storage for $100 which is excellent. In the external hard drive market, we'd be looking at WD's P40 SSD. This saw a chunky $75 off its MSRP last year, also nearly reaching that $100-mark.
