2025 truly is a massive year for anime fans. Following on from the success of Demon Slayer's latest movie (Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle), we now have a new Chainsaw Man movie out now in cinemas. Chainsaw Man - The Movie: Reze Arc brings Denji and his demon abilities to the big screen as he is thrown into a new conflict after meeting Reze, a mysterious girl who works in a café. Chainsaw Man is gory, fun, and one of the best new anime out there. Personally, we can't recommend watching this one enough.

Predator: Badlands

Predator: Badlands

Release date: November 7, 2025

Prey director Dan Trachtenberg returns for another installment in the Predator franchise – but, unlike the critically acclaimed 2022 prequel, Predator: Badlands is set in the future. Elle Fanning stars as Thia, a Weyland-Yutani android, while Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi plays a young Predator. Per the film's official synopsis, he is "outcast from his clan" but "finds an unlikely ally in Thia and embarks on a treacherous journey in search of the ultimate adversary." As suggested by that logline, the movie's first trailer confirms that, unlike previous installments in the Predator franchise, Badlands will make the titular aliens the focus of the story rather than the adversary coming up against a human hero. Bring it on.

It feels like it's been too long since we had a new Avatar movie, but thankfully James Cameron's epic fantasy world returns in 2025. The third installment, titled Avatar: Fire and Ash, focuses on a new clan, the volcano-dwelling "Ash People". Most of the major stars return, including Sam Worthington as Jake Sully, Zoe Saldaña as Neytiri, Sigourney Weaver as Kiri, and Stephen Lang as Colonel Miles Quaritch. A lot is still up in the air about what the movie will focus on, but it's certain it will be visually stunning.

Anaconda

Release date: December 25, 2025

Jack Black and Paul Rudd star in Anaconda, a comedy which, in a way, pays homage to the 1997 movie of the same name, starring Jennifer Lopez and Ice Cube. The new Anaconda follows two childhood best friends as they hit a midlife crisis and decide to head out into the Amazon to remake their favorite movie. However, the snake they rented is killed while filming, so the team decides to venture deeper into the jungle to find a bigger snake... A terrible, terrible idea.

Personally, I love playing the best Silent Hill games, however, a lot of the past Silent Hill movies haven't managed to blow me away. But maybe Return to Silent Hill can change my mind about on-screen adaptations for one of my favorite games. Following Silent Hill 2's story around James coming to the titular town after receiving a letter, the upcoming horror movie is going for psychological thrills. Hopefully, we get to see Pyramid Head as well.

Kevin Williamson, who also worked on the original Scream, Scream 3, Scream 4, and executive-produced the last two movies in the franchise, is also directing. Dune: Part Three will bring us back to the grand space opera and see Paul Atreides return. Currently, we aren't 100% sure how Villeneuve plans to adapt the next part of Herbert's novel since there is a 12-year gap from the events of Dune: Part Two to deal with. Hopefully, we get a trailer soon so we have a clearer idea.
