This is basically your last chance to grab any of this week's Prime Day gaming deals as they're set to expire at the end of the day. With discounts set to end at midnight tonight, it's time to get moving, but there remains plenty of solid deals available across a range of brilliant games, hardware, and accessories of all kinds.

I've been covering various gaming sales events for years, so no matter the bargains that appear this fall, I'll be sure to find the most solid savings that are worth your time and attention. Save 33% - The best Prime Day deal we've seen yet on this enhanced version of this classic Nintendo Wii Zelda. Built around direct control of Link's sword for the first time, this is nevertheless great feeling to play with the Joycons. Those who found the recent Switch Zelda games too focused on open worlds without enough dungeons will love this, as it features some of the best in the series, and even the more open sections feel like dungeons themselves. There's a lot to love.

Life is Strange: Double Exposure | $29.99 $23.74 at Amazon
Save $6 - Max is back, with this direct sequel to the original Life is Strange. This is almost the best price we've ever seen for this game on Xbox, with it about a dollar cheaper briefly back in May. This story-heavy game is worth it though – treat it like a box set of TV. Cinematic, Max's new adventure is affected by the decisions you make, making your route through this superpower-adjacent teen drama feel like your own.

Visions of Mana | $39.99 $28.49 at Amazon
Save $10 - This is no remake, but a brand new game in the long-running Mana RPG series – and it's a good one at that. Colorful adventuring returns, with combat that mixes together real-time action across multiple characters with strategic skill use, not dissimilar at all to Final Fantasy 7 Remake. This vibrant adventure is all its own, though, seeing Val and Hinna set out on a quest to reach the mana tree, meeting others on a similar pilgrimage along the way. This is the best Amazon Prime Day deal we've seen for the Xbox game yet.

What to expect from Prime Day gaming deals 2025

Those on the hunt for Prime Day gaming deals this October are casting a wide net, so to help you narrow your catch, we're rounding up everything we expect to see on a platform basis. You'll find our predictions for the biggest discounts in the worlds of PS5, Xbox, Nintendo Switch/Switch 2, and PC just below.

The recent US price increases for Sony hardware have put the upcoming Prime Day deals in an awkward spot. My rule of thumb for this fall's sales is that if you spot a PS5 deal on a single console or bundle, make sure it's as close to a $50 saving as possible so you can attempt to bypass those pesky price hikes. This October's savings (and future PS5 deals later in the year) are going to be all about grabbing the console for prices that wouldn't have really been considered a deal just months previously.

But what about those who already have a console under their belts? Well, other gaming discounts have been strong. As we've seen in previous years, the biggest discounts are going to be reserved for those long-standing entries in the catalog, but we're excited to see some major debut discounts on newer games like Death Stranding 2 On the Beach on the PS5.

Accessories like controllers and SSDs are also always a Prime Day favorite, and we often see the official DualSense on sale during larger holiday events. That $74.99 / £59.99 MSRP often gives way to a sale price of around $54.99 / £44.99, which is what we're hoping for this year. On the storage side, the 2TB Samsung 990 Pro is the one to watch in the future. It's still one of the best PS5 SSDs on the market, and dropped as low as $139.99 / £129.99 over Black Friday last year. SSDs have been a little harder to discount earlier in the year, but this is hopefully where we'll land this fall.

Nintendo Switch

The Nintendo Switch OLED and original Nintendo Switch are also in a tough spot right now, as the older handhelds have not been spared from the recent price increases in the US. I had hoped that the mere existence of the Nintendo Switch 2 would have made them increasingly cheaper over time, but instead, models like the OLED Switch have gone from $349.99 to $399.99, so discounts during the upcoming Prime Day sales could be rare. Even if they do pop up, it's again a case of what appears to be a deal is actually just close to the original price.

Of course, Prime Day Nintendo Switch deals are a lot more reliable when it comes to games anyway. While we generally don't see the kinds of discounts we would expect from Black Friday here, but we still expect to see some $20 / £20 discounts on older Switch releases like Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart, and Super Mario Odyssey. Newer Switch 2 games walk a finer line, but with the brand-new Pokemon Legends Z-A Switch 2 bundle releasing later during the same month, Nintendo could drop the price of titles like Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza by at least $10 to encourage new players to give their new game collection a boost.

There's also Nintendo Switch accessories to consider. Anything not compatible with the new Nintendo Switch 2 is already tanking in price. The Hori Split Pad Pro Attachment Set has dropped as low as $39.99 ($40 off $79.99) since the new device released, and the Genki Covert Dock is a Prime Day favorite ready to see similar savings. If you have upgraded to the new console, it's well worth keeping an eye on MicroSD Express cards, cases, and screen protectors as well. The new MicroSD Express Cards are pretty pricey, so even a tiny discount would make them worthwhile this Prime Day.

Xbox

We haven't seen too many Xbox Series X deals on the shelves in the last few months. Prime Day gaming deals found throughout this October might not be as kind to the flagship console as they will the cheaper S model, though. Microsoft's price increases have made these consoles particularly difficult to justify in 2025, and savings are few and far between.

That means the majority of this year's Prime Day gaming deals for Xbox players will be focused on that magic Game Pass code. While discounts haven't been too appealing recently (the best we're generally able to find was $5 off a three-month subscription), these really are the holy grails of Xbox deals.

Thankfully, there's no shortage of kit. Official controllers are going to be the most interesting sellers here; the cheaper Xbox Wireless Controller, mid-range Xbox Elite Series 2 Core Controller, and premium Xbox Elite Series 2 Controller are the stars of this year's show.

When will October Amazon Prime Day gaming deals start?

October Amazon Prime Day gaming deals will end on October 8, specifically midnight local time tonight. However, alternate outlets such as Newegg and Best Buy plan to keep deals rolling until October 12 - so while you'd be best-served picking up anything you're keen for today, it's not your last opportunity to score cheap gaming deals.

Do you need a membership for Prime Day gaming deals?

Yes, you will need a Prime membership to take advantage of the majority of this year's fall sale. However, you can easily pick up a 30-day free trial to comfortably see you through the event without spending a penny (provided you cancel your subscription before the recurring payment). As well as that, it's also worth noting that many retailers like Best Buy and Walmart in the US (and Currys and Very in the UK) often attempt to price match Amazon's biggest Prime Day gaming deals.
