The developer behind the insanely popular casual titles Plants vs Zombies and Bejewelledannounced todaythat it has signed licensing deals to bring an enormous wealth of gaming-related goodies into stores near you.

PopCap said today that they have signed with several different companies (Trends International, Bioworld Merchandising, Funko, MjC International, Jazwares and Walls360) to release everything from wall decals, calendars, plushies, wristbands, wallets, and clothing. To answer your question: we're not sure why it took them three years to do this (nor why a sequel hasn't been announced,) though being purchased by EA may have had something to do with it.

The items that have been announced so far can be viewed in our gallery above. PopCap has also said that this is only the first of their games that will be getting merchandise. Bejeweled merch (and other franchises) will be coming sometime in early 2013.

PopCap hasn't announced official dates yet, but you can expect to start seeing these online and in stores "very soon" according to the PopCap announcement.
