Star Wars Battlefront 3 Weekly: Episode 1

OK, so maybe not everyone out there is a Nintendo fanatic, and have thus been a little left out in the cold by our new weekly video series, Super Smash Bros. Wii U Weekly and Pokemon X and Y Weekly. You're weird, but that's fair. Also, lucky for you (maybe!), we've got one more weekly show we're rolling out: Star Wars Battlefront 3 Weekly. Yeah, all we got so far is that stunning E3 2013 teaser, but this ain't the bowels of Hoth here--fertile Star Wars ground is everywhere. Join us as we discuss all the news, rumors, teases, and leaks in the lead-up to EA's (eventual) release of Battlefront 3.

Star Wars Battlefront 3 Weekly is GamesRadar's weekly Star Wars Battlefront 3 show. Yeah, we bet you figured that out already. Come back every Friday for the latest news, analysis, and speculation about the upcoming brawler.

I just want more live action descriptions of trailers.
  • EAC73 - August 12, 2013 9:08 a.m.

I just want to see the amazing destruction that can be featured with the Frostbite engine. Really hyped, and loving the video series you guys are putting out.

it would be cool if they expanded upon that and made different planets/areas have different levels of gravity and have it affect the destruction. Like how on Battlefront 2 there was that asteroid map that when you went outside had completely different atmosphere and gravity

I just want a really good single player story. perhaps going off expanded universe tales. but I don't want to play the hoth/endor level again for the 50th time

Will it be first person like the cancelled First Assault or will Dice stick to the third person. Or will there be both.
  • GoldenEagle1476 - August 10, 2013 12:36 p.m.

I was wondering that too. The trailer was presented in first person, and since it is being developed by DICE, I guess it very well could be. Which, while breaking with the original games, could still be really awesome. I mean, imagine controlling vehicles like in Battlefield; you could pilot an X-Wing from the actual cockpit, or any other vehicle for that matter. I'm not sure, however, how well you could control a lightsaber in first person. Maybe they'd do like Jedi Outcast: have the entire game in first person, and then switch to third person whenever you equipped your lightsaber.

Well, Battlefront II did have the option for both, but I think the difference in mechanics between first and third person shooting has grown too much for devs to think they can successfully include both. I will not be surprised if it's first person, but I would like to think that rather than shift the gameplay into their style (i.e. more like Battlefield), DICE will strive to enhance and expand upon the original gameplay as developed in third person.

Can we please have GreenScreenRadar? Or maybe just do all RadioRadars from now on with video and a green screen :D
  • bobob101 - August 9, 2013 11:28 p.m.

At this point, GR would be half the website it is without a green screen.

Great idea for a new weekly show! I don't own a Wii U or a 3DS so I haven't been watching the other two, but I'll definitely be watching this one every week. As you guys said, even if the new Star Wars Battlefront is just a reskinned Battlefield 4, it would still be awesome. As long as the game has a wide variety of original trilogy maps, environmental destruction, and space as well as ground combat, I will be happy with whatever they put out.
  • PlainLikeVanilla - August 9, 2013 9:40 p.m.

Yes! Been waiting for a show with Greg or Lozo and I got both.
  • g1rldraco7 - August 9, 2013 9:31 p.m.

I want to know what characters will be in these game or what characters appeared din the first two of the series.
