The townsfolk will be waiting outside the village, waiting for you to slay the Chocobo Eater

Be ready for one of the harder bosses in the game

Who you get it from: Brella, the woman hanging outside the monorail station.

When you can obtain the quest: After completing Main Quest 3-3 and after your Chocobo has been fully healed.

Rewards for completion: 4200 gil, Odin’s Horn x1, Gagnrad x1, Max HP +150, Strength +16, Magic +12

Instructions for completion: Prior to meeting with Brella, you need to emerge from the station, either by looking at the Canvas of Prayers or by arriving via monorail from Luxerion. When you talk to Brella, she’ll inform you of a Chocobo Eater invading Canopus Farms. You need to defeat it to complete the quest.

Some tips for defeating this difficult Chocobo Eater: 1) Surprise it from behind to knock 25% off its health at the start, 2) equip physical resistance accessories, 3) equip and use Lightning, Wind, Imperil, and Slow abilities, 4) equip Woodland Walker or Electronica garb, 5) have a full stock of EP and at least one Ether to replenish your EP, 6) equip the Ghostly Hood, which you can get by completing the Yusnaan main quest, 7) use Guard abilities to take advantage of the Ghostly Hood.
