The Helldivers 2 Cyberstan campaign against the Cyborgs and Automatons is nearing its end as Helldivers drop into the capital city of Transcendence. It's a brutal war, with the bots deploying massive war machines, gunships facilities, and mortar and anti-air emplacements on top of constant streams of Troopers, Devastators, and plenty more. So, if you want to help with the Major Order as best as you can, here are some tips for surviving on Cyberstan and what weapons and stratagems you should be brining for the best Cyberstan loadout.
Helldivers 2 Cyberstan Major Orders
The current Major Order is to liberate Cyberstan. This will be achieved by completing Operations on the capital city of Transcendence. Once Transcendence has been taken, the planet will fall. The deadline for this Major Order is February 22 at 6PM UTC and all Helldivers will be awarded 95 Helldivers 2 Medals if successful!
There will also be no more reinforcements to bolster reserve forces for the rest of the campaign – at the time of editing this guide, 46.5 million reinforcements remain, but if this reaches zero, the Cyberstan campaign will totally fail. So, if you want to do your part, you need to complete Operations to liberate Transcendence while also dying as little as possible to avoid wasting reinforcements. Play on a lower difficulty if you must!
Completed orders and updates:
- Kill 700 million Automatons on Cyberstan Major Order completed – 40 Medals awarded to all players
- Megafactory city of Autonomy cleared – Lurza and Omniparitus now available
- Terminid cull Strategic Opportunity completed – 70 million reinforcements gained
- Players voted to send the DSS to Fort Justice to pick up Helldivers in cryostasis – 35 million reinforcements gained
- Capture Illuminate prisoners Strategic Imperative seized – 35 million reinforcements gained
- Megafactory city of Omniparitus cleared – Star Kield and Ursoot Nine now available
- Complete 8 million Operations on Cyberstan Major Order failed – 80 Medals not paid out
- Star Kield has fallen, opening the path to Transcendence – this is Super Earth's last chance to break Cyberstan
Best Helldivers 2 Cyberstan loadout and weapons
There is no single "best" loadout for Cyberstan as its high challenge level means having a mix of weapons and anti-tank firepower across several players is practically essential. With that in mind, here are some broad pointers and specific suggestions for what to add to your Cyberstan loadout, and you can check out our best Helldivers 2 loadouts guide too:
- A primary weapon with medium armor penetration and/or explosive traits: This is good advice for fighting the Automatons generally but it's worth reiterating given the number of Helldivers 2 Devastators and Cyborgs you'll be facing on Cyberstan. The Purifier, Scorcher, Eruptor, Exploding Crossbow, and Double Freedom are among some of the best Helldivers 2 primary weapons and are great candidates to bring along. The Grenade Pistol is also a great secondary weapon to pack if you have it.
- Bring Thermite or Gas Grenades if you have them: The regular High Explosive grenade can serve you just fine on Cyberstan, but with the number of big bots available Thermite grenades from the Helldivers 2 Democratic Detonation Warbond are very useful for a bit of extra anti-tank firepower. Alternatively, if you have Gas or Stun grenades from the Helldivers 2 Chemical Agents and Cutting Edge Warbonds respectively, those are great options for crowd control on the hordes of smaller bots.
- Anti-tank Stratagems are essential: Again, all players should be packing anti-tank gear when fighting the Automatons, but it's especially crucial for Cyberstan – things like the Recoilless Rifle, Expendable Anti-Tank, Leveller, Spear, Portable Hellbomb, Orbital Laser, Orbital Precision Strike, and any of the Orbital Barrages are very useful. Eagle Stratagems such as the 500kg Bomb and Airstrike can be great too, but I've found that the number of anti-air sites present in Cyberstan maps means you rarely get to use them.
- Bring something that can shoot down Helldivers 2 Gunships: I've noticed that Gunship Facilities are very common on Cyberstan, allowing multiple Automaton aircraft to suddenly appear and rain death from above with tall factory buildings providing cover for them. Make sure you have a ranged weapon with medium armor penetration (or better) and use it to bring down gunships as quickly as possible. The Commando and Spear are useful support weapons for this.
Tips for surviving Cyberstan in Helldivers 2
Cyberstan is a brutally tough planet, even on some of the middling Helldivers 2 difficulties, thanks to the never-ending legions of bots and 'borgs that are ready to defend, as well as the density of the cities. While some of these tips might seem obvious since they apply to fighting the Helldivers 2 Automatons broadly, they will help considerably when it comes to surviving the horrors of the Automaton homeworld:
- Land outside the city walls for a safer start: Cyberstan city maps feature a small section outside the megafactory walls which is where your extraction site will be. Make sure you choose an initial landing spot here to ensure you have space and time to call in any support Stratagems you might need without getting immediately swarmed by enemies. Then you can find a collapsed wall or drain to get inside the megafactory and start your mission properly.
- Kill Helldivers 2 Cyborgs as quickly as possible: The Cyborgs that fight alongside their Automaton underlings can be a massive nuisance and they should be priority targets whenever you spot them. Agitators command nearby bots, and killing an Agitator briefly stuns any bots that were under its control. Meanwhile, Radicals are incredibly aggressive and always charge towards you to deliver deadly short-range attacks, so kill them before they're able to get close.
- Don't waste all your Stratagems on Helldivers 2 Vox Engines: If you're playing on higher Helldivers 2 difficulties (Suicide Mission and above), you can get obliterated by massive Vox Engines. These are terrifying machines but they're not as difficult to destroy as you might think. Focus on destroying the vents with your regular weapons rather than bombarding them with Orbital Lasers, barrages, and bombs.
- Only certain buildings count towards the Helldivers 2 raze strategic infrastructure sub-objective: This sub-objective isn't very clear, and you need to recognize which of the tall skyscraper buildings count towards it for maximum XP and requisition slips.
- You can blast open gates for a quick exit: As well as drains, Cyberstan's megafactory walls also have locked gates that you can temporarily open or blow up permanently – handy if you need to reach extraction but can't make it to one of the other passages. However, you can only do so with C4, Ultimatum shots, Leveller rockets, Dynamite, Solo Silo missiles, Eagle 500kg Bombs, Eagle Airstrikes, and Orbital Precision Strikes to name a few.
- Watch out for cannon turrets: Cannon turrets are usually quite obvious but Cyberstan's urban jungle megafactories cause them to blend in and they're often much lower to the ground than usual. That often leads to you getting shot out of nowhere, so make sure you keep an eye out for these turrets and get rid of them. If you have the disrupt Automaton defenses sub-objective, complete this as early as possible as it'll make all Automaton turrets redundant.
While on Cyberstan, you'll face every Automaton construct, so make sure you also know how to beat Helldivers 2 Factory Striders and Helldivers 2 Hulks.
