Helldivers 2 Cyborgs have joined the fight now that the Machinery of Oppression update has brought the war to the Automatons' home of Cyberstan. These hideous amalgamations of man and machine surprisingly deadly, but they have some obvious weaknesses that mean they're easy to kill, especially if you have the right weapons. If you're throwing yourself into the bot hellhole that is Cyberstan, make sure you know how to kill these Cyborgs and the best weapons for the job.
All Cyborg enemies in Helldivers 2
With Super Earth's Second Galactic War sending Helldivers deep into bot territory, the Cyborg overlords of the Helldivers 2 Automatons have revealed themselves, deploying three new units found exclusively on Cyberstan: Agitators, Radicals, and Helldivers 2 Vox Engines – since Vox Engines can be very difficult to destroy, we've got a dedicated guide that explains how to deal with these massive Cyborg war machines and what their weaknesses are.
Agitators
Agitators are the Cyborgs' armored field commanders. They wield a surprisingly powerful laser cannon and generally keep their distance, instead directing Automaton infantry forces to attack enemy Helldivers. Automatons that are being commanded by an Agitator have bright, yellow eyes and move faster, but killing an Agitator briefly stuns any Automatons that were under its control. Kill any Agitators as soon as you spot them and that should make killing the surrounding Helldivers 2 Troopers and such a little easier to deal with.
Thankfully, Agitators are a lot weaker than they look since their head-to-robot-toe armor is only Light armor. Shooting an Agitator enough in the head or chest will cause armor pieces to break off too, though I've not noticed a significant damage benefit to doing so.
Radicals
The Cyborg Radicals are fast-moving, brutish soldiers that carry a shotgun-like blaster, throw smoke grenades to cover their advances, and like to charge in for melee combat. However, they are even less protected than their Agitator leaders, being only partially covered in Light armor – in fact one headshot from the Censor is enough to kill one!
But don't let their vulnerability fool you as Radicals are some of the most aggressive Automaton units found in Helldivers 2 Cyberstan missions. I've found that their blasters can easily damage your limbs and cause chest haemorrhaging when they close in, causing you to get through your stim supply incredibly quickly. They're also not afraid to run up and roundhouse kick you in the head to knock you over, following up with more kicks or shotgun blasts for easy executions. They are savage attackers and should be killed as quickly as possible, preferably before they can get anywhere near you.
Best Helldivers 2 Cyborg weapons
Helldivers 2 Cyborgs might be deadly, but their poor armor is their main weakness, which you can easily exploit. Since Agitators are covered in only Light armor, with Radicals being even less armored, practically any weapon in the game can damage these them. However, to deal maximum damage and kill these Cyborgs as fast as possible, you should use any weapon with medium armor penetration and aim for the head.
I've found the Double Eagle shotgun to be a great option for killing Cyborgs, but the PLAS-101 Purifier, PLAS-1 Scorcher, Adjudicator assault rifle, and Coyote assault rifle are good weapons too – those are just a few of the best Helldivers 2 weapons but there are plenty more that can get the job done, especially when it comes to support weapons.
Make sure you also know how to destroy Helldivers 2 Gunships as they can be a serious threat on Cyberstan. It's also good to know how to complete the Helldivers 2 raze strategic infrastructure sub-objective for full marks.
