Pokemon evolution is one of the most satisfying and rewarding mechanics of the game series, so of course you want to know if your Pokemon evolve in Pokopia. You've built Charmander a nice warm house, you've given them a few nice gifts and some tasty food, they're living in a Pokemon paradise, and yet they're still Charmander. What gives?
While Pokemon may not technically evolve in Pokopia, you can get evolutions of your favorite monsters, so here's how it all works.
Do Pokemon evolve in Pokopia?
No, Pokemon don't evolve in Pokopia, however, you can still get evolved forms to move in nearby.
Since you can only get each Pokemon once in Pokopia, allowing them to evolve would mean you have to choose which form you want, rather than being able to have all Pokemon in an evolutionary line live together. Instead, you have to find each form separately. So, for example, even if you already have Charmander living in Withered Wasteland, you have to discover Charmeleon and Charizard separately, by finding out which habitat they like and building it for them.
Some evolved forms, like Ivysaur, have the same habitat preferences as their previous evolution, so you can always try them. However, they won't always, so you may need to wait until you find the right Pokemon traces.

If you're desperate for a full evolutionary line to live together and accidentally wind up with Bulbasaur in Withered Wastelands and Ivysaur in Bleak Beach, you can move one to the other. As long as they don't have an active quest, Pokemon will follow you to another region - just make sure to rehome them there or they won't stay.

After studying Music and Lifestyle journalism and writing a column for a stylish lifestyle magazine in her hometown of Brighton, Danielle finally found her feet writing about videogames for WePC in 2021. She then honed her guides writing skills at PCGamesN between 2022 and 2026, when she took those skills to GamesRadar as a Guides Writer. Danielle's guides are a safe space - she definitely got stuck before you did, which is why she's perfect for the job. When she's not replaying the Silent Hill games or a more up-to-date single-player horror game, you'll find her fighting for her life in Dead by Daylight, tending to a garden in Stardew Valley, or doing both in Minecraft.
