The Black Flag Resynced Sugarcane and Its Yields quest is a bit of a tough one because it features two sections where a stealth approach is best due to the overwhelming number of guards. However, the main challenge for this Black Flag Resynced quest is finding the Warehouse Key as it's tucked away in a private manor at the far end of the plantation and can be difficult to get without causing a huge commotion. With that, here's what you need to do to complete Sugarcane and Its Yields as smoothly as possible.
Black Flag Resynced Sugarcane and Its Yields walkthrough
After following James Kidd across Andreas Island to the elevated lookout point, here's what you need to do to find the Warehouse Key and complete the Sugarcane and Its Yields quest without getting into a massive fight:
- Find Beckford's agent, who usually patrols the parts of this British dock camp furthest from the lookout point you start at. Sneak forward and use Eagle Vision (R3/R3) and aiming (L2/LT) to mark enemies until you find the agent.
- Kill the agent and loot his body to collect the cargo manifest. It's good to use whistling, hiding spots, smoke bombs, and tree hangings to your advantage to secure the kill without causing a ruckus as this dock has quite a lot of soldiers inside.
- Return to the Jackdaw and sail to Cat Island (706, 669). Dock the Jackdaw when you arrive then sneak onto the island plantation.
- Sneak past the plantation guards using the available buildings and shrub hiding spots and head straight for the manor in the southwestern corner of the Cat Island plantation.
- Climb onto the roof of the manor and peek into the garden to locate and mark Emmerson Beckford at roughly (705,664). He holds the Warehouse Key you need.
- When Beckford eventually goes inside the manor and isolates himself from his guests, drop from the roof out of sight, go inside, and either pickpocket the Warehouse Key from Beckford or assassinate him and loot the key from his body.
- Sneak over to the Warehouse towards the north beach of Cat Island at (706,669) and use the key to unlock the doors. Edward and the Jackdaw's crew will safely plunder the Warehouse in a cutscene.
From the Warehouse, you should loot a piece of art called "The Burning of the 'Royal James'", 1,250 Reales, and 12 Wine. That also marks the end of the Sugarcane and Its Yields quest!
However, you may want to return to Cat Island later to rob this warehouse again as, like other warehouses, it replenishes based on a timer (hover the map cursor over the icon to see how long you must wait). Once it has been restocked and you can get the key off one of the plantation guards and loot the warehouse again, helping you get fragments of Black Flag Resynced Treasure Maps, more Reales, and precious resources. If you've got access to Kenway's Fleet, you can also send your ships on missions that resupply warehouses so that you can loot them again.
