How to find the Sage and the prison key in Black Flag Resynced
Here's where to look for the prison key and the Sage in AC Black Flag's "Claiming What's Due" quest
The Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced Sage and prison key are in the upper villa area of Torres' estate. Finding them isn’t too difficult, but the real challenge is trying to stay hidden to avoid a deadly battle with all the guards, especially if you're new to Assassin's Creed and Black Flag Resynced is your first stabby outing. Below, I've laid out the precise locations of both the Sage you need to rescue and the necessary prison key.
Black Flag Resynced Sage and prison key location
Both the Sage in Black Flag Resynced and the prison key are in the main villa area in the northern part of Torres' estate:
- Prison key: On the estate Warden, who can be initially found in the villa courtyard at 207,573.
- Sage prison cell: In the large square building in the northwest corner of Torres' estate, with the entrance at 204,575.
So, with this information in mind, the best way to complete rescue the Sage in Black Flag Resynced is to cross the plantation area and head up the stone steps in the southwest part of the estate, then head north towards the villa where you'll find a guarded gate. Climb over the wall to the left of the gate, then head east towards the villa. While not essential, you can also eavesdrop on some guards near the gate who mention the Warden mustering all the guards, so you can tail them towards the villa.
When you reach the villa, get onto the roof of the villa by climbing or using a lift (be aware of snipers up on the roof), then wait for the Warden to finish speaking to the guards. He'll then leave the courtyard and start patrolling the villa on his own, giving you plenty of opportunities to leap from the rooftops and assassinate him when no other guards are around. Loot the key from his body, then head over to the prison and unlock the door to complete the quest.
Just bear in mind that when you're skulking about trying to rescue the Sage in Black Flag Resynced, the estate is full of Spanish guards and alerting one or two of them may escalate into a large fight. Thankfully, there aren't any alarm bells for them to ring to bring the whole estate on you, which means that stealth isn't even essential, but it certainly makes things easier. Make good use of Eagle Vision (R3/RS) and aiming (L2/LT) to spot and mark guards; bushes and low walls to hide; whistling to lure guards over for assassinations; and smoke bombs to hide yourself and you'll get this quest done stealthily and smoothly.
