PS4 Camera sales surge after Sony reveals you need one for PlayStation VR

While we've yet to see the staying power of virtual reality, it looks like more than a few people are willing to be early adopters of the technology. Since the PlayStation VR price and release date reveal yesterday, demand for the PlayStation Camera (which is a required piece of the PS VR setup, but does not come in the box) has shot up by nearly three thousand percent on Amazon. Holy crap!

PlayStation Move controllers, which are not required for PlayStation VR but enables hand-tracking in games that support it, have likewise seen a major jump. Demand for these wand-like peripherals has risen by roughly 800 percent, while a charging base from Sony has climbed by a little over 900 percent.

They say correlation does not equal causation, but I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that the announcement yesterday and the ballooning of demand is probably more than a coincidence. Get 'em while they're hot, people!
