What moment or scene in a game really got to you? Really made you feel what was happening? Doesn't mean it made you cry (but we're all friends here, you can share), just something that stayed with you for a while.

Our answers in T-Dar 42, out today!

Plus, I forgot to mention who helped me with the Chris soundboard last week, so here they are:

FLOWER SPOILERS AHEAD

When the levels go from being all lovely and and green and colourful to being all depressing darks with pylons ruining the vistas etc i felt really drawn into the moment of wanting to change the levels for the better, so the moments when the colour returns to the city and everytime you touch a pylon or piece of black rock it smashes away bringing colour to the world it really made my heart jump awesome game.

Also the entirety of Zelda :Link to the Past.

I'd go with Ico at the end when you and the princess are sitting at the beach eating watermelon. It's almost like the game is saying "you waded through hell. Now enjoy a peaceful ending". You don't get many endings like this nowadays. Everything is a ******* setup for the sequel they annouced before the first game even shipped.

OK... without pulling out the FF7 Aerith scene, because its become so trite, I'd have to say:

Don't read ahead if you have not played Shadow of the Colossus (that means you Chris).

Right before the last colossus, when Agro (ostensibly) dies. It helped to put the true cost of bringing Mono back to life into context.

** WARNING: MASS EFFECT SPOILERS **

There were a few moments in Mass Effect which really got to me.

Quiet ones, such as trying to explain to the late Nirali Bhatia's husband why the Alliance couldn't turn over her body, or the late-story conversations with Ash when you're trying to woo her.

Deciding between Ash and Kaiden was also quite rough. Kate's reaction to the batarian before he kills her brother in cold blood was also haunting in it's strength.

And I finished a Renegade playthrough the other day. I had trouble sleeping afterwards because I was haunted by my various decisions... especially because the sound of the asari pilot on the Destiny Ascension's voice when they realize the Alliance has cut off contact...

** WARNING: MASS EFFECT SPOILERS **

This is part joke, and part drug-induced truth.
...Brett will know what game I am talking about...

When Pixie left, i almost cried. Later, during the long, Laser filled final battle with Pixie, I felt guilty for beating him.

Remember, I was on some serious painkillers at this time. (REALLY Broken Arm)

Tales of Symphonia Spoiler

When you find out that the Church of Martel and the Desians were one and the same, and I was actually helping them the whole time... that was one thing I didn't guess (I pretty much guessed Kratos was Lloyd's father), it's just stuck with me, that was really amazing for me, totally caught me off guard.

I agree with Tales of Symphonia completely.
But not with that part, late game...

**SPOILERS**

You basically are lead to believe all your friends are dying :)
And the ending...and like, 15 other sad parts in the game!

To me, the first cut scene in the sniper level in World at War really shoes the horror and brutality suffered through during WW ll.

i agree with Tales of Symphonia.

also Shadow of the Colossus,The World Ends With You, and most of all Okami.

i was into Okami for so long, i hunted and gathered Beast Fangs forever just to get all the power-ups. It was the most captivating game ive ever played, along with The World Ends With You.

EDIT: just got done listening to the podcast, i racked up 74 hours on Okami.

The world ends with you, when you figure out what you have been doing the whole time, basicly the ending. I actually felt pissed and sad. One of the Zelda games made me tear up, forgot which.

Super Metroid Ending

When baby Metroid attacks the **** out of you (I remember screaming "WHAT THE **** GET IT OFF GET IT OFF" at 14 years old), leaving you at ONE sliver of energy left. After realizing who Samus actually is, the same person who 'rescued' it immediately after hatching in Metroid 2, the Metroid starts it's 'screeching' - first at a lower tone, then higher - almost apologetically - over accidentally slaughtering the **** out of it's own 'parent'. After a few seconds it flies off, your heart is pounding like ****, and you continue on.

Upon reaching mother brain (and briefly fighting her), she unleashes this mega beam attack that basically wipes out all your energy AGAIN, leaving you crumpled on the floor, struggling to stand. Your natural reaction is to mash all the buttons to try and get up, and despite Samus' clear attempt to get to her feet, she continually drops down, as mother brain warms up her final attack.

A split second before destroying the SHIT out of Samus, baby metroid swoops in AS mother brain is attacking, and absorbs the attack. Samus, still kneeling in front of the two, can only watch as baby metroid follows the collapsing mother brain to the ground, still leeching off her attack. She then detaches (leaving a swollen mass where mother brain's head once was), and moves towards Samus, TRANSFERRING the energy to her.

As your life bar fills, you gradually see small puffs of smoke coming from mother brain - who eventually stands up, and begins shooting at baby metroid. Finished refilling your energy, baby metroid stays in place to shield you from the attack - you actually see it's color begin to fade - before finally letting go for one more lunge at mother brain, but her final attack is too much. Baby metroid dies just overhead of Samus, fading away just before landing on her.

Then, cue that music, followed by the most satisfying boss fight EVER - Mother Brain shrieks as her head reels back from every shot of the newly acquired Hyper Beam.

I don't think I've ever been so mad at a video game before, but I ******* HATED mother brain.

Youtube link (missing the part where the metroid attacks you, though)

OHSHIT moment: 2:45

I still get chills watching this. Greatest game ever.
