You know when you're Gchatting with someone, a friend or coworker or somebody, and they say something intended to be funny but really is just kind of awkward, and you don't want to make it even more awkward so you respond with a LOL or hehe or ha!, even though in actuality your face is utterly devoid of mirth? Yeah, that response is basically the most emotion a meme will ever elicit.
