Curiously, more than a fortnight after this brilliant Nintendo Switch 2 deal first appeared, it's still live, albeit "almost gone" according to the listing. One thing has changed, though: eBay no longer displays the coupon code on its store page, but rest assured, as of Monday, April 20, it still works.
It's 2026, and the cost of everything is rising. The PS5 now costs AU$250 more than it did when it launched in late 2020. The ROG Xbox Ally X copped a AU$200 price rise back in February, now setting you back a prohibitive AU$1,799. An ex-Nintendo sales lead said earlier this month that Switch 2 prices going up is "inevitable".
And, well, that's just gaming consoles.
Which is why I think it's worth highlighting big discounts on gaming consoles when they happen, and there's currently a very good deal on the Nintendo Switch 2 over on EB Games' eBay store. Hit that link and you'll see the already-discounted price of AU$669 excluding shipping. But if you use the coupon code APRILSS at checkout you'll get a further AU$50 off. That means, with shipping included, the total comes to AU$628.95.
That's AU$70 off the RRP for the standalone Nintendo Switch 2. In this climate? It's genuinely a surprise.
Nintendo Switch 2 only released in June but its software line-up is growing fast (not to mention that the vast majority original Nintendo Switch games are compatible with it). Pokemon Pokopia—which JB Hi-Fi is currently selling for AU$99.95—is a recent highlight: a cosy blend of Animal Crossing, Minecraft and, well, Pokemon.
