Last One Standing 

When you can obtain the quest: Any time. Note: You cannot complete this quest until your New Game+ playthrough.

Rewards for completion: 12000 gil, Hermit’s Cap x1, Bladed Lance x1, Max HP +160, Strength +18, Magic +16

Instructions for completion: This quest requires you to defeat every Last One (ie. omega) creature in the game. Many are available as you travel throughout all four lands in the game as well as during the events of the game’s Final Day. There are two ways to make these creatures spawn: 1) You need to hunt each species to extinction. This re-enforces the point that there are a finite number of enemies in the game, so you’re encouraged to take on every manageable beast as you travel throughout Nova Chrysalia. 2) You can encounter the Last Ones directly by travelling to the Ultimate Lair.

To unlock the Ultimate Lair, you’ll need to complete all 5 Main Quests prior to the end of Day 12. This will unlock a Ultimate Lair Cactuar teleport point for you. Note that the Last Ones grow in strength if you wait until the Final Day, so it would help if you can defeat a few of them prior to accessing the Ultimate Lair.

Since you cannot report to Zanford on the Final Day, you will need to wait until the New Game+ to give him proof of your victories.
